Lee M. Kenna, Jr.

Chairman of the Board and C.E.O.

Mr. Kenna has served as Chairman of the Board and C.E.O. of SIMCO since he joined the Company in August of 1983. Over that time, the Company has grown from $4.3 million to over $40 million in sales and from 75 to more than 300 employees. His primary focus over this time has been in new market development, bringing SIMCO operations into new commercial markets. He is past President of the World Presidents’ Organization’s Northern California Chapter, and past President of the Pacific Skyline Council of the Boy Scouts.

Before joining SIMCO, Mr. Kenna worked in a variety of sales and marketing roles, including serving as Director of International Marketing for FMC Corporation’s Alkali Chemicals Division, a $250 million sales operation. In this position he opened up new markets for the Division’s products in Argentina, Peru, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Mr. Kenna earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from Duke University and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He received the Bronze Star Medal for service in Vietnam as a Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Bradford G. Phillips

Chief Financial Officer Vice President of Finance

Mr. Phillips is responsible for SIMCO’s Finance and Accounting Department and Contracts Administration. Hired as CFO in 1987, he has worked with the CEO to grow SIMCO through acquisitions and new government contracts. During 1993-94 he worked as SIMCO’s Vice President of Commercial Operations.

Prior to joining SIMCO Mr. Phillips worked for Loral Corporation, a high-technology defense contractor. From 1980-1982 he managed Loral’s internal auditing department and was responsible for operational and financial audits nationwide. He was promoted to Controller of its subsidiary, Narda Microwave-Western Operations, to form a $25 million manufacturing operation. Previously he was employed in auditing positions by Price Waterhouse and Co., Philadelphia, PA , and CertainTeed Corporation, Valley Forge, PA. He holds CPA certificates in the states of New York and Pennsylvania .

Mr. Phillips earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (Cum Laude) from Temple University , Philadelphia , PA. He served on active duty as a US Navy Supply Corps officer (Disbursing and Supply Officer, USS LUCE (DLG-7)), from 1970-1973. He also served on reserve duty from 1973-1993, culminating in assignment as Commanding Officer of the joint services Military Traffic Management Command reserve unit in Oakland, CA . He retired with the rank of Commander in 1993.

Ted Buckman

Mr. Buckman joined SIMCO Electronics in April of 2007.  As the Controller, he oversees the Company’s Finance and Accounting Department.

Prior to joining SIMCO, Mr. Buckman worked nine years in the clothing manufacturing industry for fashionable brand names such as Sessions and Fox Racing, Inc. where he served as the VP of Finance and Controller, respectively.

Mr. Buckman earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Accounting, from California State University, Sacramento.  He then worked for several mid-sized public accounting firms until he earned his California CPA license in 1998.

Lisa Clark

Vice President, Human Resources

Ms. Clark is responsible for the Human Resources function at SIMCO Electronics.  Hired in April of 2002, she oversees all aspects of human resources initiatives throughout the company, including talent acquisition, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.  In addition, Ms. Clark serves as Corporate Secretary for the company.

 Ms. Clark has worked in the Human Resources field for over seventeen years.  Before joining SIMCO, she held the position of Human Resources Director at YY Software.  Prior to that, she held a similar Human Resources Director role at Telleo.  Both were early stage Silicon Valley companies in the internet and software industries.  Earlier in her career, she managed the Human Resources Department for a San Jose - based division of Boston Scientific, and she also spent several years in a variety of Human Resources specialist positions with the Western Development Laboratories division of Lockheed Martin and at Sun Microsystems.

 Ms. Clark earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior from Golden Gate University. 

John Connelly

John Connelly

Vice President, Software and Information Technology

Mr. Connelly joined SIMCO in 2008 and runs SIMCO's Software business and IT organization.  During his tenure, SIMCO has expanded its CERDAAC software offering which is now serving over 3,500 clients worldwide.

Prior to SIMCO, Mr. Connelly spent 15 years in executive roles at numerous Silicon Valley start-ups.  Immediately prior to SIMCO, he served as Executive VP of Marketing & Business Development at BigBand Networks – a leader in digital video networking.  From 2003 to 2008, he guided the company to $176M in sales and a successful IPO in March, 2007.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Connelly served as VP of Marketing at DiviCom – a pioneer in digital video compression.  During his tenure, DiviCom sales grew to $185M before the company was acquired by Harmonic in 2000 for $1.7B.

Mr. Connelly began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories.  During his 15 years at AT&T, he was responsible for designing, developing and product managing a wide range of innovations in residential telephones, network computing devices and digital switching systems.   Mr. Connelly holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.  He also completed an Executive Development program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Brian Kenna

Vice President, Western Region

Mr. Kenna is responsible for sales and operations of SIMCO’s Western region.  Prior to his current role, Brian ran SIMCO’s Repair business as well as led the Technical Operations group.  Hired in 2007, he was Director of Software Sales and Marketing, driving revenue, strategy, and product direction for the company’s software-as-a-service business.


Prior to SIMCO, Mr. Kenna spent 10+ years in sales, operations, and strategy roles for various technology companies, and in finance with Comcast Interactive Capital and Goldman Sachs.


Mr. Kenna attended Duke University where he earned a Master’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Bachelors of Science degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.  Brian also received an MBA from the Wharton School where he was a Joseph Wharton Fellow.
 

Scott Sutter

Vice President, Eastern Region

Mr. Sutter is tasked with leading sales and operations for SIMCO’s Eastern Region.  Since joining SIMCO in 1999, Mr. Sutter has successfully been promoted from multiple revenue generating positions to a leadership role within SIMCO’s Executive Staff.  Mr. Sutter’s partnership approach with enterprise clients has lead to the development of key elements of SIMCO’s value proposition that centers around driving client metrology compliance and enhancing asset control via SIMCO’s Software Product Suite, CERDAAC.

Mr. Sutter earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington with membership into Phi Alpha Theta (History Honor Society) and Phi Eta Sigma (Freshman Honor Society).

Ed Baumann

Ed Baumann

Director of Quality

Mr. Baumann joined SIMCO Electronics in May of 2011.  As Director of Quality, he works with corporate staff and with SIMCO personnel throughout the international lab network to refine and maintain all the Company’s Quality programs. 

Mr. Baumann has over 20 years experience in the medical device field working in Quality.  He has worked for medical device start-ups and large multi-national companies.  He has lived and worked internationally with assignments in Germany and Ireland.  Previously, he served as the Quality Manager at NovoStent Corporation in Mountain View, California, the developer of a Novel Stent and Integrated Stent Delivery System product.    

Mr. Baumann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.   He is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and is a registered ISO 9000 Lead Assessor.
