SIMCO Accredited Calibration Services
ILAC Policy Change
The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) has published changes to calibration certification requirements from calibration providers to their customers. The changes have, in turn, been incorporated in A2LA’s requirements for certificates. Effective November 1, 2011, calibration laboratories are required to deliver test data and the uncertainty of measurement with all accredited calibration certificates.
Change Highlights
With these forthcoming changes, beginning November 1, calibration labs providing Accredited Calibrations are now required to provide the following information on all ISO/IEC 17025 endorsed calibration certificates:
- All test data measurements.
- Measurement uncertainty information for each data measurement
SIMCO Offerings
SIMCO has previously offered two levels of ISO/IEC 17025 certification (accredited calibration) options. These two levels of ISO/IEC 17025 certification were defined as follows:
AC1 – An accredited calibration without uncertainty information.
AC2 – An accredited calibration with uncertainty information.
Effective November 1, 2011, accredited calibrations which exclude uncertainty (AC1) cannot be issued as an endorsed, accredited calibration certificate.
SIMCO provides calibration procedures in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and a certificate of calibration with the accreditation logo.
- ISO/IEC 17025 with uncertainties – This accredited calibration service includes data entries that have an associated uncertainty of measurement provided where possible within our A2LA approved scope of accreditation.
