Calibration Levels

A calibration industry leader since 1962, SIMCO offers a range of calibration levels to meet your quality, compliance, and budget requirements.

Service Tier Overview

SIMCO offers a range of calibration levels to meet your compliance and quality needs:

  • Z540.1 With OOT Data

ANSI/NCSL Z540.1-1994 compliant calibration measures the complete recommended data range and provides measurement data for out-of-tolerance (OOT) results.

  • Z540.1 With Full Data

ANSI/NCSL Z540.1-1994 compliant calibration includes the full set of pre and post adjustment measurement data (including OOT data).

  • 17025 Accredited

ISO/IEC 17025-2017 accredited calibration includes the full set of pre and post adjustment measurement data with uncertainties. Conformance to specification will be based on the calibration limits, with no applied guard banding (simple decision rule). An optional guard banded decision rule that considers measurement uncertainties and produces a probability of false acceptance (PFA) of ≤2% is also available

17025 Accredited Calibrations

SIMCO’s ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration offerings include the full set of pre and post adjustment measurement data (including Out Of Tolerance data) with uncertainties. SIMCO customers have two 17025 accredited calibration options to choose from:

17025 Accredited with Simple Decision Rule:

Decision of conformance is made solely by comparing the measurement result to the calibration limits. This option is SIMCO’s default decision rule. See illustration below:

17025 Accredited with Guard Banded Decision Rule, based on TUR

Decision of conformance considers measurement uncertainties. It uses an algorithm based on the Test Uncertainty Ratio (TUR) and produces a probability of false acceptance (PFA) of ≤ 2%. This option controls the risk of false acceptance (accepted as in-tolerance but is actually out-of-tolerance) at the cost of increased false rejection (rejected as out-of-tolerance but is actually in-tolerance). 0 option is higher priced than the Simple Decision Rule option.
