Temperature and Thermometer Calibration Services
Accurate, Traceable Temperature Measurement for Critical Processes
Ensuring Confidence in Temperature Measurement
SIMCO Electronics provides temperature calibration services to ensure accurate, repeatable, and traceable measurements for regulated and precision-driven environments. Instruments such as thermometers, thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, and data loggers can drift over time due to aging, environmental stress, or handling.
Calibrations are performed under ISO/IEC 17025 or ANSI/NCSL Z540.1 standards, with documented results, measurement uncertainty, and SI traceability through NIST. Accurate temperature measurement is critical in industries like pharmaceuticals, biotech, aerospace, semiconductors, and food processing, helping reduce risks of nonconformance, quality issues, and audit findings.

Temperature Calibration Capabilities
- Thermocouples (Type J, K, T, E, N, R, S, B)
- Thermometers – Liquid-in-Glass, Bi-Metallic, Digital
- RTDs (100 Ω, 1 kΩ, and specialty configurations)
- Thermistors Calibration
- Infrared (IR) Thermometers and Pyrometers
- Temperature Data Loggers and Recorders
- Temperature Probes and Sensors
- Precision Temperature Baths and Dry-Wells
- Environmental and Climate Chambers
Our Temperature Calibration Process
SIMCO follows a controlled, repeatable calibration process designed to minimize uncertainty and ensure traceability:
Stabilization and Warm-Up
Instruments are allowed to stabilize under controlled laboratory or onsite conditions to reduce thermal gradients and environmental influence.
Reference Standards and Traceability
Calibrations are performed using precision reference standards such as platinum resistance thermometers (PRTs), fixed-point cells, calibration baths, dry-wells, and comparison standards with known uncertainties traceable to national or international standards.
Test Points and Span Verification
Multiple temperature set points (low, mid, high) are applied across the instrument’s operating or customer-specified range to assess linearity, offset, and span.
Comparison and Adjustment
Instrument readings are compared against reference standards. Adjustments are performed when authorized and technically feasible to bring instruments within specified tolerances.
Measurement Uncertainty and Decision Rules
Measurement uncertainty is calculated and reported. Results may be evaluated using simple acceptance criteria or guard-banded decision rules to reduce false accept risk, consistent with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540 practices.
As-Found / As-Left Documentation
Calibration reports include documented as-found and as-left data, tolerances, reference equipment, environmental conditions, and traceability information.
Certificate Issuance
A calibration certificate is issued to support audit readiness and quality system requirements.
